🔥 What could change by September?

Hi there, it’s Octavia.

This isn't my usual Friday email, but I hope you don't mind me popping into your inbox a couple of days early.

One of my favorite parts about writing this newsletter every Friday is reading the replies I receive.

Over the weekend someone hit reply and asked me a question that made me think. So, I'm sending you a bonus mid-week edition today, something I've never done before.

That reader asked me whether the way we measure success changes how we interpret our progress, and whether that influences our ability to keep showing up.

I believe the answer is yes.

In fact, I think how we measure success changes everything.

Because if success only counts once you've finished writing the book, launched your newsletter, or crossed whichever finish line you’re dreaming of, then almost every day before could feel like some form of failure.

And that’s why so many really, really good ideas quietly disappear.

But what if success started much earlier than that?

I believe success involves becoming someone who consistently keeps promises to themselves. Especially when no one else is really watching.

Because when you figure out how to do that, everything starts to shift.

The question I received about how to measure success landed at exactly the right time, because it's basically the whole idea behind what I've been building.

And I want you to think about what success means to you, right now.

Let’s jump in.
